How does AVU work?
AVU's delivery model combines a creative integration of satellite
technology and the Internet that allow the provision of quality
educational content from all over the world at an affordable cost.
The delivery model takes into account the technology and
infrastructure situation that currently prevails in Africa.
AVU places a high premium on interactivity and local learner support
so as to ensure pedagogical effectiveness.
World-class professors from universities around the globe deliver
classes remotely using online resources and live broadcast when
available. At each participating AVU learning center, on-site
facilitators guide students through materials and act as liaison
with course instructors. Each AVU learning center is equipped with
at least 50 computer and Internet access.
