Login Information
NJIT is working toward a "single login" computing environment.
The UCID (University Computer ID) serves as your credentials for
many computing services on and off-campus:
• It is the key to updating your NJIT Campus Directory entry
(
http://directory.njit.edu)
• It is a login account for many systems including AFS, Mailhost,
and others
• It will authenticate you for the campus portal, Highlander
Pipeline.
• Although your UCID will serve as the username for these
systems, some passwords are still maintained separately.
When you create a UCID, you will also be given a default NJIT
email account. This email account is your Mailhost account. It
is the primary student and alumni email system. Faculty and Staff
will also receive a Mailhost account. Your email address will
be in the form: yourUCID@njit.edu.
The university will send you important communications to that
address. If you would prefer to use another email system (e.g.
AOL, Hotmail, etc.), it is important that you forward your Mailhost
e-mail to the preferred account. It is your responsibility
to read any and all email sent to your official NJIT email account.
Instructions to have your email forwarded automatically can be
found at http://csd.njit.edu/helpdocs/faq/faq3.php
